  Location 1 cun superior to the anterior hairline and 1.5 cun lateral to the midline or one third of the distance between ➞Du-24 and ➞ST-8. How to find The distance of 1.5 cun refers to the proportional cun measurement for the distance of 4.5 cun between ➞ Du-24 (midline, 0.5 cun superior to the anterior hairline) and ➞ ST-8 (corner of the forehead), (➞ 2.2). By dividing this distance into thirds, BL-5 can be located one third of the distance from ➞Du-24 and 1 cun superior to the anterior hairline. Located on the same level is ➞ Du-23 (on the midline).
