SP-5



Location
In the depression at the junction of a vertical line drawn along the anterior border and a horizontal line drawn along the lower border of the medial malleolus. Or: In the depression halfway between the highest prominence of the medial malleolus and the tubercle of the navicular bone.
How to find
SP-5 is located in a depression anterior and inferior to the medial malleolus, at the junction of a vertical line drawn along the anterior border and a horizontal line drawn along the inferior border of the medial malleolus. SP-5 is located distal to the tendon of the tibialis anterior muscle.
Located in a comparable position on the lateral aspect of the foot is ➞ G.B.-40 (in a depression at the junction of a vertical line drawn along the anterior border and a horizontal line drawn along the inferior border of the lateral malleolus).
