Location
At the junction of the upper quarter and the second quarter of a line connecting ➞ ST-8 and ➞ G.B.-7.
How to find
First, locate the two reference points: ➞ ST-8 (4.5 cun lateral to the midline and 0.5 cun within the anterior hairline, at the corner of the forehead) and ➞ G.B.-7 (in the depression on the level of the apex of the ear, within the circumauricular temporal hairline).
Then divide the slightly curved line between these two points into quarters and locate G.B.-4 at the junction of the upper quarter with the lower three quarters. Generally, G.B.-4 is located on the temporal hairline and the anterior portion of the  temporalis muscle, which can be felt when chewing.
